Collagen peptides or peptide bioregulators?

Both are sold as “peptides”, both are associated with skin and connective tissue,
and they are not the same category of product. The difference is easy to see once you look at the
amounts.

Hydrolysed collagen: a protein source

Collagen powder is collagen protein that has been broken into shorter fragments so
that it dissolves and is easier to take. It is sold in gram amounts — a typical serving is
between two and ten grams, which is why it comes as a powder in a tub rather than as a capsule.

Nutritionally, that serving is a protein supplement. The body digests it into amino
acids and peptide fragments and uses them like other dietary protein. Collagen is not a complete
protein, so it is usually taken alongside a normal diet rather than as a replacement for it.

What you are buying, in short, is raw material in a convenient form.

Peptide bioregulators: a different concept

Peptide bioregulators are short amino-acid sequences derived from specific tissues,
or synthesised to match them. They are dosed in milligrams, not grams — a capsule typically
contains 200 mg of a complex, of which the peptide fraction is a fraction again. That is
several hundred times less material than a collagen serving.

Because the amounts are so small, these products are not a protein source and are
not meant to be. They sit in a different logic: a defined sequence from a defined tissue, taken in a
short course, rather than a bulk nutrient taken daily and indefinitely.

Which tissues, and why that matters

Collagen in the body is not made by one cell type. Cartilage cells produce one form,
cells in the vascular wall another, and connective tissue elsewhere again. A bioregulator formula
built around connective tissue therefore tends to combine several tissue sources rather than one.

Our Infinity
Collagen Power
is an example: Sigumir from cartilage tissue, Ventfort from vascular tissue and
Taxorest from bronchial tissue, 60 capsules of 200 mg. Despite the name, it contains no
collagen. If you specifically want collagen as a protein source, this is the wrong product and we
would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.

How to tell them apart in a shop

Look at the serving size. Grams mean a protein source. Milligrams
mean something else.
Look at the format. A tub with a scoop is collagen. A blister of
capsules taken for ten to thirty days is a bioregulator course.
Look at the ingredient name. “Hydrolysed collagen”, “collagen
peptides” and “bovine/marine collagen” are the protein. “Peptide complex A-4” or a tissue name is
not.
Ignore the product name. Both categories borrow each other’s
vocabulary in marketing.

Can you take both?

They do not exclude one another; they are simply different purchases with different
purposes. What neither can do is compensate for the basics — enough protein in the diet
overall, sleep, and sun protection where skin is concerned.

The products behind this comparison

The bioregulator side of the comparison, and two of the single complexes it is built from. None of them is a collagen powder.

Frequently asked questions

Is Infinity Collagen Power a collagen powder?

No. It is a capsule product with three tissue-derived peptide complexes and contains
no collagen. If you are looking for hydrolysed collagen to take as a protein source, this is a
different concept.

Do you sell collagen powder?

Not at present. The powders that were previously in the range are no longer
available. What we carry in this area is the peptide bioregulator described above.

Why are bioregulator doses so much smaller than collagen doses?

Because they are used for different reasons. Collagen is taken as nutritional
material, so the amount has to be substantial. A bioregulator is a defined short sequence taken in a
course — the quantity is small by design.

Which is better for skin?

Neither category can be recommended as “better” in a general sense, and any shop
that tells you otherwise is guessing on your behalf. The honest answer is that they are different
purchases: one is nutrition, the other a course-based supplement.

How long is a bioregulator course?

Usually 10 to 30 days at one to two capsules daily, repeated after three to six
months. The exact instruction is on each product page and differs by formula.
