A food supplement with cordyceps, presented as a freeze-dried melting pastille. The majority of the ingredients are taken up through the oral mucosa — no water and no swallowing required.
Cordyceps is the largest and most diverse genus in the family Ascomycota (sac fungi). It thrives in the humid forests of temperate and tropical zones and is widely distributed across Europe, North America and East and Southeast Asia — particularly in Bhutan, China, Japan, Nepal, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Tibet and the Himalayan regions of India, including Sikkim. It is a parasitic fungus that grows on insects and other arthropods from more than ten different orders.
More than 200 naturally occurring compounds have been identified in Cordyceps species. Among the best known is cordycepin (3′-deoxyadenosine), a structural analogue of the nucleoside adenosine, which occurs either in free form or bound to a saccharide unit.

Cordyceps 5+ is produced using the LIPO-LYO-PHILIZATION process: the ingredients are freeze-dried rather than compressed and combined with a lipid protection layer. The pastille dissolves in the mouth and the majority of the ingredients are taken up via the oral mucosa. Because it is freeze-dried rather than pressed, the pastille is delicate — small particles may come loose or stick to the foil, which is a normal characteristic of this dosage form.
Let one pastille dissolve in the mouth and keep it there for about 5 minutes. Do not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes afterwards. To remove a pastille, do not push it through the blister — carefully pull off the foil from the loose side so that the pastille stays intact.
